Nicole Ponsart

Ponsart is an interdisciplinary visual artist from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is currently pursuing an MFA at Arizona State University with research grounded in ceramic processes and material studies. Her work investigates the place-based ecologies and embedded value systems in landscapes of extraction through the creation of rocks and rock formations made of discarded material. She leverages her sculptural objects as collection to complexify and unearth the histories and systems of extraction, unseen labour, and commodification of land that shape capitalist nations.
